Who is Cassandra Nova? Decoding Deadpool and Wolverine's Bald Villain's Abilities and X-Men Connections

Deadpool and Wolverine’s latest mutant villain was revealed in the first official version of the Deadpool/Wolverine trailer; she also has an intimate connection to X-Men family members.

Deadpool & Wolverine will introduce an incredible new character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe that has significant links with one of its most legendary X-Men ever. The brand new trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine shows us for the first time this unsettlingly beautiful villain with a bald head emerging out of an Ant-Man corpse and sparking questions as to her identity and motivations.

Deadpool and Wolverine’s new villain isn’t alone: Fox X-Men characters Azazel (father of Nightcrawler), Lady Deathstrike and their mutant followers seeming to serve The Void are back as key figures; similarly, Emma Corrin from The Crown could play Emma Corrin who poses a significant risk to Deadpool’s plan to capture Wolverine and save him from Sacred Timelines?

Who Is Cassandra Nova In Deadpool & Wolverine?

Within Deadpool & Wolverine, Cassandra Nova will appear as its main villain. According to its trailers, she has shocking powers and was responsible for Genosha’s massacre – killing thousands of mutants. However, this plotline has since been altered with her appearing instead as Mister Sinister who leads The Wild Sentinels gang in that film adaptation.

As Nova is believed to reside within the Void (introduced during Loki Season 1 and ruled by Jonathan Majors as part of The One Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), it is likely she was at some point cut down and sent into the temporal abyss by TVA before appearing in Marvel comics as an unwanted abomination that never should have existed). This fits well with her depiction within Marvel comics as an outsider or rebel against an authority figure who must face her off against various powers; she was unknowingly created outside her intended purpose in life and comics is depicting her accordingly – she does not belong within her intended presence!

Cassandra Nova Is a Very Sinister MCU Villain

Unbelievably, Cassandra Nova may have one of the most insidious Marvel Cinematic Universe villains ever. Although Thanos may have lost his entire planet to Thane, but Nova stands as his archenemy; she attempted to murder Professor Charles Xavier while still pregnant but died instead resurrecting as an undead “Shi’ar”, an aspect often called Mummudrai (“shadow self”) that we all possess in some form or another.

Cassandra Nova first debuted in New X-Men #114.

Marvel legend in the Marvel universe holds that Mummudrai parasites, which appear identical to their “twin”, emerge in gestation and attempt to gain supremacy over them. Nova, one such “Mummudrai”, appeared as an exact copy of Charles Xavier in her body before birth. To stop her evil ways Charles killed her before birth and produced one of Marvel’s most memorable comic book pages ever:

Nova managed to escape from her fetus fight and gain another host body, embarking on her path of revenge that resulted in killing Charles Xavier and believing it would enable her to conquer the universe. Her influence eventually persuaded Donald Trask III to launch Genocide against Genosha; its destruction saw sixteen million mutants vanish all at once.

Exploring the Extraordinary Powers of Cassandra Nova

Nova Exhibits the Same Amazing Abilities As Professor X Nova has many of the same incredible abilities displayed by Professor X, with more than his arsenal of skills as evidenced in the Deadpool and Wolverine movie trailer when she effortlessly battled Hugh Jackman’s Berserker using Telekinesis and psychic abilities that even Loki’s time-based monster Alioth couldn’t defeat.

Her astral birthplace is what really separates her from Professor X in that it allows her access to not only his abilities as well as any additional ones that he might gain in the future, such as higher levels of telepathy, telekinesis superhealing phasing DNA duplication as well as her astral projection ability which allows her to leave their physical bodies altogether. If this power exists within Marvel Comics Universe but outside it (such as The Void), answering why she wants to remain there becomes even harder – which only adds menace.
