Kimberly J. Brown and Daniel Kountz are excited to announce that they are engaged.
On April 19 at the Spanish Hills Club in Camarillo, California 92 family and friends witnessed their marriage ceremony.
Kaylen Alison Davidson of Sara Judith Events helped this couple plan their wedding, who were instantly drawn in by the stunning views in the club’s private area.
“These mountains were so stunning when we first saw them! Regarding the location of their nuptials, Brown (39) yells. Initially it was our initial stop but after visiting other locations we began comparing everything to it!
Their vision for their ceremony included “understated class”, so they took advantage of its natural surroundings by using soft colors such as blush pink and white with black accents to give an elegant finish.
Outdoor ceremony was performed beneath an arbor made of wood decorated with flowers by Tipsy Tulips Design using Petal Driven flowers; Rustic Yard Events provided rentals; linens were supplied through Mosiac party company; while More Than Words designed stationery items used during their vows.
As they both love nature, Kountz and Spiess decided to have their ceremony outside in the forest with views of valleys and stunning landscape. After moving inside for dinner and dancing until late at night – an experience neither could forget!
Ashley Crenshaw officiated the ceremony, providing it with a personal touch and being familiar to both Daniel Kountz and Brown – which served as Brown’s matron of honour and co-starred actress Lacey Chabert as bridesmaids in Brown’s bridal party.
Ali Fedotowsky, Ashley Jones, Missi Pyle and Amy Davidson joined host Ali Fedotowsky and actress Judith Hoag from Halloweentown as other special guests from the world of entertainment.
Brown danced across the dance floor to “I Choose You,” by Sara Bareilles and featured Briana Cuoco (Kaley Cuoco’s sister). Brown was wearing her Stella York gown from Lili Bridals.
“The gorgeous layers of tulle on my ballgown-style skirt made me feel like an elegant bride,” Brown says of her gown. “I felt so confident wearing this dress; that was very important for me. Because Lili Bridals custom crafted my veil between shoulder length and floor length – featuring my desired veil detail featuring beads, crystals and pearls on its edges was my absolute favorite!”
As soon as she began dancing, she switched out her Badgley Mischka heels for Betsey Johnson’s glittery shoes from Violet Artistry – her wedding day look.
Kountz and his wedding party donned SuitShop suits as part of their attire for his special day, along with ties, shoes and other attire from SuitShop.
Music was an integral component of their celebration, so they hired DJ Tyler Varnell – known for being “an awesome” DJ as well as being a skilled saxophonist – as their DJ and hired him specifically because he also plays live saxophone solos during their first dance as well as during the ceremony itself. “Tyler can also provide live saxophone performances!” explains Brown.
“You are the Best Thing” from Ray LaMontagne was their first wedding dance song. According to Kountz, it is an incredible track and both of them love it immensely.
At their reception cocktail party, they put great importance on food options for their guests – featuring delicious snacks such as flatbread tables and other fun activities like “Oh you know I’d love some pizza for this reception cocktail party.’ “
As part of their dining experience, guests enjoyed New York strip and chicken Napoli. For late-night snackers looking for an assortment of French Fries or Onion Rings with various dip sauces.
“Having an amazing cake was not necessary,” Kountz states. They chose an all-vegan vanilla bean cake featuring crumb of cinnamon cheese filling as well as vanilla buttercream frosting from Sugar Lab Bake Shop as their creation.
Luma House videography and The Big Affair photography meticulously documented all of the unforgettable events at Luma House.
As they recall their special day, newlyweds share with PEOPLE how it felt like “living out a dream.”
“Our family and friends who attended were absolutely incredible; many traveled further than expected to join the celebration,” Brown says. It was truly remarkable seeing all our relatives together at one place at once, interacting with one another, sharing memories, laughing together and having fun together.
Brown and Kountz first met during their work on Halloweentown II for Disney Channel before beginning an affair several years later. While Brown says she got along “great” with Kountz on filming, she also says there were “never any romantic conversations, thoughts, emotions or thoughts at that time”.

After filming concluded, Brown and her former co-star remained close, maintaining communication primarily via social media. In 2016, she approached her former co-star about an idea she was enthusiastic about pursuing.
“As I was making some sketch comedy videos for YouTube, I thought that some of my viewers may find these interesting and like them,” she told PEOPLE. “So I tried contacting him and began working together on sketches – though we started feeling something along these lines (as kids would say).”
Kountz recalls being taken aback when she saw Brown for the first time after all these years.
“Kimberly J. Brown arrived to meet me at a bar where I was waiting, only to discover a beautiful full-grown and well-put together woman that made an immediate impactful impression,” recalls Tom. “That was it for me; she completely entranced me!”
Brown believes their love bloomed naturally and slowly.
“The more conversations we had and reminisced together, and as soon as we began talking more regularly, everything fell into place more smoothly and comfortably,” she reflects, noting their shared history and foundation was essential in building lasting relationships between them.
On June 26th 2022 – which marked their one year anniversary as officially boyfriend and girlfriend – Kountz asked Brown for a marriage proposal after an afternoon spent riding pedal boats similar to what swans ride in Echo Park Lake in Los Angeles. When night fell they walked together up Griffith Observatory which was their initial date location.
“On our first date, he proposed in the very same place, and the evening was just wonderful!” Brown recalls.
Now Kountz is thrilled to make Brown his wife. “I feel really ecstatic,” he tells PEOPLE about Brown whom he considers his ideal partner – “she has all of my trust.”
He describes her as someone with incredible dedication: when an idea hits her she quickly acts upon it and manages it well; I find her actions powerfully engaging with nature.”
Brown says she was taken by Kountz’s kindhearted nature and warm heart, noting his unwavering care and love. She calls him her favorite person to cuddle up next to at any hour of day on the sofa and discuss topics of any topic; together they simply love being together.
As they embark upon married life together, Brown anticipates plenty of travel and new adventure with her new spouse by her side. “We both take great pleasure in exploring other regions around the globe; however, in my early career it wasn’t possible for me to travel as extensively compared to what my goal would have been,” says Brown. She notes: “So it will likely become part of our routine to visit new countries together.
Kountz says she can’t wait to explore the world with Kimberly – it will be amazing.
